March
March 14th Thorablot at Winterhorse Park. Keep this date open for a fun Icelandic traditional celebration. This Icelandic winter celebration was formed centuries ago to bring people together during the dark winter months in Iceland. We will be gathering here at Winterhorse Park with traditional food, songs, skits and games on horseback. Be sure to reserve this day of fun. Additional Thorablot info.
March 14th World Fengur Clinic with Andrea Brodie at Winterhorse Park. World Fengur (Fengur means gift) is an international data base that contains lineage facts of each and every registered Icelandic Horse. Find out if your horse has famous brothers or sisters, what kind of competition history and evaluation scores they or their parents have, and more. Additional World Fengur Clinic info.
April
April 4th-5th Icelandic Horse Riding Clinic with Halldor Victorsson at Winterhorse Park. We are please to offer a wonderful opportunity to start the riding season off with a riding clinic instructed by Halldor Victorsson. Halli is an FT certified trainer from Iceland, an International Sport Judge and has been an Icelandic Champion 14 times. Halldor is a patient trainer that prefers to work with small groups. The clinic will be forming groups of three riders each that will ride twice a day. In order to reserve your space in this event, please be sure to contact me as soon as possible.
Private lessons are also available either before or after the clinic on Friday and Monday at a cost of $50. Paddock rental $40 per day. All fees are subject to 5.1% Wisconsin State Sales Tax.
All horses must show a current 2009 negative coggins test. You will need to show the original and bring a copy for my file. Horses coming in from surrounding states (except Minnesota), in addition to the negative coggins, must also have a required Interstate Health Certificate to travel across state lines.
May
May 1st - 3rd Schooling Show with Halldor Victorsson at Winterhorse Park. This is a great opportunity to compete without the pressure of a sanctioned show and learn while having loads of fun. See link below for entry form and a list of classes that will be offered. As with all schooling shows, the judge is allowed to give instruction where needed. There will be a seminar for the riders on Friday, April 5th at 5:00 to answer any questions. To save time, there will be no finals for the four Open Classes. The track will be available for practice on Thursday and Friday. If you need private time on the track, please be sure to schedule that in advance. See Entry Form and Schedule for more details.
